These images are taken from two separate series that looked at the redevelopment of industrial sites in South Wales in the late 1990s.

I was interested in the stratification of the landscape and how new layers and surfaces are laid down as the use of the land changes: in this case moving from heavy industry towards a newer, commercial and residential context.

I recently went onto Google Earth to see if I could recognise where these photographs were made. I couldn't. The whole area has changed so much in such a short time. It was strangely sad and disturbing to see it.
