King's Hill was an alternative community near Glastonbury, in the South West of England, that bought their own piece of land and tried to live a low-impact lifestyle in the late 1990s.
Their houses, or 'benders', were contructed with tree branches and covered with tarpaulin sheets. An experiment in 'garden community' they aimed to be self-sufficient in terms of energy and food production.
They were later forced by the council to take down their homes as they didn't have planning permission. I shot this series back in 1998 and have since lost touch with them. If anyone knows where they are now then do let me know!
