A city held under siege during the Balkans conflict in the early 1990s. This series of images was commissioned by BBC Television to mark the war’s 10th anniversary in 2001. It concentrates on the Borovo Shoe Factory and workers complex. The factory had been the main employer in the area with 20,000 workers before the war.
